EMPLOYMENT

2003 - present : Freelance Journalist and Writer. My articles have appeared in dozens of publications, and include business, finance, health, news and lifestyle topics. Journalism clients include the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Glamour, Women’s Health, Psychology Today, MSN.com, Runner’s World, and Wired.com.

2004 - 2005 : Business Writer, Associated Press Financial Wire, New York. Wrote an average of 20 realtime and analytical stories daily on publicly traded companies. My stories appeared on Yahoo!, Google, Forbes.com and other sites. I specialized in the defense industry.

2001 - 2003 : Award-winning Health Care Reporter, East Valley/Scottsdale Tribune, a 100,000-circulation daily newspaper in metropolitan Phoenix.

Wrote breaking, investigative and feature stories. In a competitive news town, I broke stories on policy issues, medical technology, public health, health care trends and the business of health care. Generated ideas for about 80 percent of my articles.

Produced a yearlong series on Arizona organ donation rates throughout 2002 – at the time the lowest in the country. By the end of the year, the CEO of the state's organ procurement office was ousted and inquiries into organ donor cards in Arizona were up 75 percent.

2000 : Editor, Sofia Independent, an online English-language news digest based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Wrote a 2,000-word daily briefing on Bulgarian business and political news for entrepreneurs, ex-pats and academics living in Bulgaria and abroad.

1999 - 2000 : Award-winning General Assignment Reporter/Photographer, the Valdosta Daily Times, a 20,000-circulation daily in rural South Georgia. Enterprised stories on sub-par mobile home manufacturers, the struggling agriculture industry and clog dancing. Wrote and shot about 12 stories weekly. Generated ideas for about 95 percent of my articles.

1999 : Intern, CNN World Report, Atlanta Assisted in all stages of producing a daily international broadcast.
